Edelweiss Stitch - Round Needles
Round needles:
Cast on multiples of 4 (for example 16 = 4×4)
Put a marker at the end of your row
Row 1: Knit Stitch the whole row around
Row 2: Knit 1, Purl 2 together (leave the stitches on the needle). Now knit those same 2 stitches together
Repeat this pattern until the end of the row – when you will only have one stitch left.
or our pattern, we need 2 stitches. So, slip the one stitch you have on your left needle to the right needle (do not knit), remove your marker, put the one stitch you slipped on the right needle back onto the left needle – then Purl 2 together (leave the stitches on the needle). Now knit those same 2 stitches together.
Once you’re done, place the marker back where you originally had it.
You will now slip one stitch from the right needle back onto the left needle and put your marker back.
Row 3: As you slip that stitch back onto the right needle, this will create the first stitch of your 3rd row, then knit every stitch.
Row 4: 2 stitches together (leave the stitches on the needle), and then knit those same 2 stitches together
The pattern you have made with these 4 rows will create an Edelweiss Stitch on round needles:
Have fun! xo
